Expo Iran’s first international tourism opportunity in the post-Corona world

The footsteps of the post-Corona era are finally being heard after a period of fear and hope that the world has experienced over a period of nearly two years. Therefore, holding the first international tourism exhibition “Expo” in Dubai, a city in the southern part of the United Arab Emirates, always promises the beginning of a post-Corona world, at least from the perspective of the tourism industry.
Now, considering this, it should be examined how Iran has used this opportunity to launch a new project in the economy based on its tourism industry and how the country’s decision makers and tourism activists from this golden opportunity to achieve sustainable development in the country. Two areas of economics and culture are exploited.
Undoubtedly, with the uniqueness of the Jahangir Corona virus over the past 20 months, we have witnessed an indescribable stagnation in many industries and achievements of human technology that has been unprecedented for at least the last 50 years.
At the beginning of the third decade of the 21st century, after the rapid growth it has experienced over the past three decades, the tourism industry, which is considered one of the newest human achievements in the fields of culture and economy, suddenly stopped in disbelief behind the great barrier of this evil virus. And industry activists across the globe suffered serious damage from its repeated outbreaks.
During this period, although government planners and decision makers in this area took several measures to overcome the health crisis, but the emergence of this industry in Iran and the lack of resilience of the weak infrastructure of this industry along with the pressure of other crises such as the consequences of unfair sanctions and some weak decisions. In addition to the catastrophic and repeated outbreak of the virus, industry activists have not been able to find a safe haven to get through this difficult time, or rather a difficult historical turning point, however, there is hope for the future that lies at the heart of this dynamic industry. In the end, some well-thought-out measures that slightly reduced the pain of tourism caused the Iranian tourism industry, despite being young, to withstand all these pressures, of course, by paying heavy material and spiritual costs, and to continue its life in the hope of a better tomorrow.
In previous speeches, it has been repeatedly emphasized that the decline of the tourism industry due to the outbreak of coronary heart disease, despite all its problems, had a few positive points behind it, which can be emphasized by taking steadier steps towards a post-coronary world. However, they are briefly discussed.
Although the spread of Coronavirus worldwide caused a decline in tourism activities in the world, including Iran, but this period of recession provided a good opportunity to review and even review many policies for the development of quantitative and qualitative tourism in Iran, so that the rapid growth of this Industry in the world and the efforts of Iranian tourism managers and activists to keep up with the tourism cycle, perhaps provided less opportunity to address what has happened in Iranian tourism so far, including the unbalanced development of domestic tourism in all regions of the country. He pointed to the development of “mass tourism” or the need to seriously identify new target markets for foreign tourism, so Corona provided an opportunity to take a short breath and analyze the current state of Iranian tourism to chart a future roadmap.
Now we have to examine how this opportunity has been used.
The worldwide outbreak of coronary heart disease and the decline in all economic activity may, for the first time, provide an equal opportunity for developed and developing countries to participate in a fair and equitable competition to conquer international markets. The world has taken the necessary advantage and openly and covertly examined its strengths and weaknesses in the field of world economy and trade, and by removing the existing obstacles, they have prepared themselves for a spectacular and attractive competition in the world of tomorrow.
Expo and golden opportunities for tourism in Iran
Expo is derived from the term Exposition and is a global event for all human beings throughout the universe to exchange high human opinions and ideas in the social, economic and cultural spheres.
What makes this global event important to us in 2021 is that this major global event, for the first time in decades, has been successfully held around the world, this year in the UAE and in the sensitive region of the Middle East, in the southern hemisphere. The Persian Gulf is held in the so-called two steps of our country.
As mentioned earlier, this event is the first international gathering in the fields of technology, science, economics, culture and art, which is supposed to expose what man has thought so far and is implementing in the post-corona world, and in fact the engine The marathon of world competitions is officially revealed in this event.
Now everyone is waiting to see how Iran uses this first global opportunity in the post-Corona world, which is supposed to be held after a year of delay in its neighboring country. So we should all try not to turn this big event into a waste of time.
However, considering that in this article we are talking about tourism, culture and art, it is suggested that decision makers at the national level and then decision makers and cultural and tourism activists at the provincial level pay more attention to the issues discussed below. You can plan to participate in this global event.
Given that this event is the first opportunity to enter the markets of the post-corona world, the need for strong planning at both national and provincial levels for Iran’s glorious presence is crucial given that this year’s expo will be held in the Middle East and individual or island decisions. Due to the long duration of this event, it can be deadly for tourism and handicrafts in Iran.
Addressing the cultural and artistic capabilities of Iran is important in any planning, so it is suggested to introduce the capabilities of different regions of Iran in the field of handicrafts, especially luxury handicrafts and also, handicrafts that have the UNESCO International Medal.
Appropriate combination of veteran and young artists in the exhibition along with compiling attractive videos and short and feature films of their work along with holding live workshops for the production of handicrafts, especially attractive handicrafts such as carpets, cloth, painting, copper and silver engraving or arts Another eye-catching will be very effective in the success of the Iran booth in this exhibition.
Introducing the historical monuments of world registration and national registration along with using the latest methods of photography and filming, along with the use of virtual technologies that will have a worthy impact on the introduction of Iran is effective in this exhibition.
Introducing the world cities of handicrafts and related fields such as: Isfahan, Tabriz, Rasht and Mashhad and utilizing the capabilities of the world secretariats of these cities in this exhibition is of vital importance.
The need to take advantage of Iran’s high potential in the field of health tourism, especially in three areas: treatment, the possibility of recovering in natural attractions and the possibility of producing medicinal plants and traditional medicine.
Extensive introduction of pristine natural attractions, especially in new destinations and in accordance with the spirits of different countries in the direction of tourism marketing, for example, the introduction of green areas of the country to attract tourists from countries with hot and desert climates.
Comprehensive introduction of unknown historical attractions in different parts of the country for those interested in cultural tourism and its subdivisions.
Attracting the cooperation of effective organizations in tourism development such as the Environment Organization to develop new types of tourism in the portfolio of Iranian tourism products, such as the development of tourism in protected areas.
Optimal introduction along with presenting the capabilities of free trade zones, especially areas such as: Chabahar, Qeshm and Kish, which are located near the exhibition site in the northern axis of the Persian Gulf, and even the possibility of studying the possibility of traveling from the exhibition site to these areas Immediate restrictions on tourists’ travel to Iran (approved by the Cabinet – October 1400).
Maximizing the potential of new communication technologies such as virtual networks, utilizing the potential of the media, as well as striving for a large presence of knowledge-based and capable companies in the field of e-commerce in both tourism and handicrafts.
In any case, the sensitivity of this exhibition is not hidden from anyone due to the opportunities of global competition. On the one hand, the lack of private sector in the two fields of tourism and handicrafts due to Corona’s two-year dominance over the social and economic life of the Iranian people and their lack of serious desire to participate in this exhibition, on the other hand, at least in terms of financial support at the national level. Considering the full establishment of the new government in the capital, the government must seriously act with its existing facilities and help the private sector and local managers so that we do not miss this golden opportunity that may have arisen only once in this critical period for our country. And to turn the expo into a valuable opportunity for our country’s authority in all fields at the beginning of the fifteenth solar century.
