Faisal bin Farhan: Iran-Saudi relations created a new positive atmosphere in the entire region

In this meeting, which took place in Beijing after the recent agreement between the two countries on March 19 of last year (1401), Hossein Amirabdollahian stated that the official relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Saudi Arabia were officially activated from today and said: Considering the talks done as well as the message exchanged between the King of Saudi Arabia and the President of our country, the will of the leaders of the two countries is based on the development and deepening of relations between them.

The head of the diplomatic service of the Islamic Republic of Iran also pointed to the existing agreements between the two countries and added: the existing basic documents, along with the will of the leaders of the two countries, have provided the necessary legal and legal grounds for advancing the cooperation between the two countries in all fields.
It should be noted that the agreement on security cooperation between the two countries dated 28 April 1380 (22.1.1422, corresponding to 17.4.2001) and the general agreement on cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, investment, technology, science, culture, sports and youth in It was signed between the two countries on June 6, 1377 (February 2, 1419, corresponding to May 27, 1998).
In a meeting with his Saudi counterpart, the Minister of Foreign Affairs mentioned that the growth of economic relations and mutual investments can help to strengthen relations, he listed transit as one of the important areas of cooperation and said: Iran’s geopolitical position provides a unique opportunity at the disposal of Saudi Arabia and other countries. The Persian Gulf is a place for commercial cooperation with the northern countries of Iran.
He also expressed his satisfaction with the holding of this meeting and the activation of official relations between the two countries in the holy month of Ramadan, and considered it a good and blessed ground for the two countries and the countries of the region.

The two foreign ministers also exchanged preparatory delegations for the reopening of embassies and consulates of the two countries, activation of joint agreements and exchange of delegations from the two countries in order to develop relations in various fields including economic, commercial and investment fields, carrying out negotiations of specialized delegations in order to resume They agreed on direct flights, facilitating the issuance of visas for citizens of the two countries, including Umrah visas, and strengthening joint cooperation in international forums.
Amir Abdollahian and Faisal bin Farhan also thanked and welcomed the mutual invitations from each other for a bilateral official trip to the capitals.
At the end of this meeting, a joint statement was signed between the foreign ministers of Iran and Saudi Arabia in the presence of the foreign minister of China.
