Faisal Moqdad: If we did not have an alliance like Iran, it was not clear what would have happened

According to the report of the international group of Fars news agency, Hossein Amir Abdullahian, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, who is in Syria, met and talked with President Bashar Assad and Foreign Minister Faisal Moqdad.
After this meeting, Miqdad said in a joint press conference: This meeting was held after the new developments in the region and the two countries, as well as the challenges of the Zionist regime and Western countries, and America is at the top of it.
Al-Akhbariya news channel reported, Moqdad emphasized that “Iran-Syria relations are strategic and we will witness their deepening in the coming days.” We are meeting to start a new track for Iran-Syria relations.
He continued: Imagine what would happen if Syria did not have an allied country like the Islamic Republic. We will explore ways to expand economic and trade relations and increase cooperation in all fields to counter the illegal and oppressive Western sanctions against the two countries.
The Syrian Foreign Minister stated that any meeting between Damascus and Ankara should be based on respect for Syrian sovereignty and noted: We appreciate Iran’s efforts to improve Turkey-Syria relations. Iran also supports the rights and principles that it adheres to in its politics.
Pointing out that Iran’s policy is to preserve the territorial integrity of Syria, Moqdad said: We support the Palestinian nation alongside Iran. What Israel is doing in the Palestinian territories is a war crime and a crime against humanity.
He stated that the Zionist regime knows that Syria will respond to this regime’s attacks at the right time, and clarified that the region is facing many problems. The enemies do not want the Syrian nation to progress.
The foreign minister of Syria also avoided the theft of the country’s resources by the US and emphasized: the looting of our oil and agricultural resources by the US prevents the provision of the needs of the Syrian people.
Today, Saturday, January 24, Amir Abdullahian arrived in Damascus in response to the invitation of Faisal Moqdad and met and talked with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
The meeting was attended by Moqdad, Iran’s ambassador to Damascus, Sobhani, Nasser Kanani, spokesman for Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ali Asghar Khaji, senior advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs for special political affairs, and Mehdi Shushtri, assistant minister and director general of West Asia and North Africa of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
This is Amir Abdullahian’s fifth trip to Syria. He traveled to Syria in Shahrivar and Mehr of 1400. Amir Abdullahian’s third trip to Damascus was made in April of this year and after his trip to Beirut. He traveled to Damascus for the fourth time on July 11 of this year.
Nasser Kanani, Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mehdi Shushtri, Assistant Minister and Director General of West Asia and North Africa of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mohammad Sadegh Fazli, Director General of the Ministry, and Ali Asghar Khaji, Senior Adviser to the Minister of Foreign Affairs on Special Political Affairs, will accompany Amir Abdullahian on this trip.
