Referring to his upcoming trip to Iraq to talk with Iraqi officials to finalize this year’s Arbaeen plans, Mirahmadi clarified: Part of the challenges of last year’s Arbaeen ceremony were related to the Iraqi side and the existing infrastructure in Iraq. Iraq will examine these cases.

He continued: One of the main problems for the movement of pilgrims from Iran to Iraq is the lack of border gates on the other side of the borders, which will be one of the main axes of the dialogue with the Iraqi parties, in view of the heat of the Arbaeen this year. The central headquarters of Arbaeen consists of various institutions, organizations and ministries, including the presidency, the Ministry of Jihad, Agriculture, Energy, Health and Medicine, Roads and Urban Development, Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization, Broadcasting, Police Force, Central Bank, Tehran Municipality, The Red Crescent and the governors of the border provinces with Iraq.

The deputy security and law enforcement minister of the interior added: Arbaeen’s central headquarters is considering a plan for Iranian pilgrims with the aim of providing better services, which will be notified to the compatriots if finalized.

Mirahmadi pointed out: Managing a population of several million during a limited and specific time, considering the facilities available on the borders of the two countries of Iran and Iraq, requires that the pilgrims also have the necessary cooperation and assistance with those involved in order to hold this global movement as well as possible. .

He called it important to specify the time and place of pilgrims’ movement, crossing border crossings and the time of their return from the Arbaeen ceremony in planning by the authorities to provide better and faster services and said: the more accurate these things are, the more accurate the plan will be. The authorities can do better to overcome possible problems.

He called the establishment of joint camps with the Iraqi side between the border provinces among other plans of last year to provide better services to the pilgrims and added: Our effort is that the meetings are not ceremonial so that we can reach the necessary agreements to provide services as quickly as possible.
