Foreign exchange resources in Qatar became available to Iranian banks

Mohammad Reza Farzin, the head of the central bank, announced the start of banking operations to use foreign exchange resources transferred to Iranian banks in Qatar.
It was in August of this year that all of Iran’s unreachable resources in South Korea were transferred to the Swiss Central Bank account to be converted into Euros. These resources were then transferred to two Iranian banks Al-Dkhan and Al-Ahli in Qatar.
During this period, 6 Iranian banks (Agriculture, Saman, Pasargad, Tourism, Entrepreneur and Shahr) opened accounts in two Iranian banks, Al-Dkhan and Al-Ahli in Qatar, in order to enable the use of foreign currency sources.
The Central Bank announced today that in the joint meeting of the Governor General of the Central Bank of the country and the Governor of the Central Bank of Qatar, the necessary agreements regarding the start of banking operations in order to use the foreign exchange resources transferred to 6 Iranian banks in Qatar were made.
As stated by the public relations of the central bank, in the meeting of Mohammad Reza Farzin, the governor general of the central bank of the country, with Sheikh Bandar bin Mohammed Al Thani, the governor general of the central bank of Qatar, the solutions for the development of financial and banking relations between the two countries were also discussed.
In this meeting, which was also attended by the vice-presidents and general managers of the two banks, the governors of the central banks of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Qatar pointed to the numerous economic capacities and diverse fields of commercial cooperation between Iran and Qatar, on the need to increase monetary, banking and financial cooperation between the two countries.
