Forrest Whitaker receives the Palme d’Or


Forrest Whitaker will receive the Palme d’Or of Honor at the opening ceremony of the 75th Cannes Film Festival, following Judy Foster, Fars News Agency reported.

Forrest Whitaker will be the guest of honor at the opening ceremony of the 75th Cannes International Film Festival this year to receive the Palme d’Or.

On this occasion, and as part of this tribute, the film “For Peace” by Christopher Castan and Thomas Samtin, produced by Vetker, will be screened in a special screening on May 18.

The award said the award is a tribute to a “brilliant artistic journey, a rare personality as well as a cautious but strong humanitarian commitment to key issues”.

Last year, Judy Foster received the Palme d’Or.

Alain Delon, Bernardo Bertolucci, Anis Varda, Jean Moreau, Jean-Pierre Leo, Manuel Di Oliveira are some of the most famous recipients of the Palme d’Or of the past.

Forrest Steven Whitaker (born July 15, 1961) is an African-American actor, director, and producer who won the Academy Awards, Golden Globe, Emmy, and Cannes Film Festival.

He won the 2006 Academy Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role for his role as “Ugandan dictator” Eddie Amin in the 2006 film The Last Scottish King. He is the fourth black actor to win the award, after Sydney Poitier, Denzel Washington and Jimmy Foxx.
