France banned Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok/Employees do not have the right to enter messengers “for fun”!

According to the media reporter of Fars News Agency, quoted by AlgeriaFrance joins a growing list of governments that say TikTok lacks adequate levels of cybersecurity and data protection.

France has banned the “recreational” use of Instagram, Twitter, TikTok and other apps on the phones of government employees over concerns about inadequate data security measures.

France’s Ministry of Public Services tweeted that the ban would take effect immediately.

“In order to ensure the cyber security of offices and employees, the government decided to ban entertainment apps like Tik Tok on the phones of government employees,” Stanislaus Guerini said on Friday.

He added that for several weeks, several of France’s European and international partners have taken measures to restrict or ban the download, installation or use of the Chinese video sharing app TikTok by their governments.

Recreational programs do not have adequate levels of cybersecurity and data protection to deploy on office equipment, Guerini said, adding that exemptions can be considered for professional reasons, such as an office’s corporate communications.

Gurini’s statement did not specify which apps would be banned. But it is mentioned that this decision was taken after other governments have taken similar measures against Tik Tok.

A series of governments and institutions, including the White House, the British Parliament, the governments of the Netherlands and Belgium, the New Zealand Parliament, and the governments of Canada, India, Pakistan, Taiwan, and Jordan, have banned Tik Tok in recent weeks.
