French authorities may soon impose sanctions on a group of corrupt politicians in Lebanon.

France is imposing sanctions on a group of Lebanese politicians, citing Western diplomatic sources.

According to the publication, the list includes in particular the Lebanese MP and former Lebanese Minister of Defense, the chairman of the Lebanese Reconstruction and Development Council, Nabil Jaisar, and the president’s legal adviser, and Salim Jorisati, the former Minister of Justice.

In addition, two other prominent businessmen are mentioned: Jihad al-Arab, a close associate of former Prime Minister Saad Hariri, and a close associate of Rihan, the son-in-law of the president and leader of the Lebanese Free Patriotic Movement.

At the initiative of Paris, imminent sanctions are imposed on Lebanon against all EU countries, and a group of Lebanese politicians and entrepreneurs are barred from entering the territory of member states and their bank accounts are blocked.

Earlier, the US Treasury Department reported that seven individuals and one company had been added to the list of individuals and entities under sanctions by the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), a subsidiary of the Treasury Department, for “contributing to the financing of Hezbollah in Lebanon.” The United States is growing.

According to the US Treasury Department, the Qatari government has also imposed sanctions on these individuals and entities (7 individuals and one company).
