France increased imports of Russian goods

According to the report of Fars News Agency, citing Sputnik, last August, France increased its imports from Russia by 25% or 1.1 billion euros per month.
This is based on a study conducted by Sputnik on data from national statistical offices of EU countries.
The growth of French imports from Russia has been recorded for the first time since February. In that month, the level of French imports from Russia was 1.8 billion euros, after which France reduced its spending on Russian goods for five months.
According to this survey, Portugal increased its imports of Russian goods by 9.4 times at the end of summer and reached 79 million euros.
Purchases of Russian goods also increased monthly by Latvia (44%), Austria (27%), Spain (27%), Greece (15%) and Slovakia (6%).
At the same time, some European countries, such as Slovenia (-60%) and Ireland (-63%) reduced the volume of imports of Russian products.
After overtaking Italy in July, Germany was the largest importer of Russian goods in August, with purchases of German goods from Russia reaching 2.7 billion euros, compared to 2 billion euros spent by Italy on Russian goods and the Netherlands with 1.5 billion euros. 1 billion euros ranked third.
Germany and Italy also remained the main suppliers of European goods to Russia, with German exports reaching 1.15 billion euros and Italy’s 462 million euros in August.
