France reacts to Erdogan’s order to expel its ambassador to Turkey

According to Fars News Agency’s International Group, the French Foreign Ministry on Monday reacted to the order of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to expel the French ambassador to Ankara.

Erdogan announced on Saturday that the ambassadors of 10 countries, including France and the United States, who had demanded the release of “Osman Kavala”, a Turkish businessman imprisoned in that country, would be declared an undesirable element.
The order came after the Turkish Foreign Ministry summoned the ambassadors of the 10 countries last Monday over a joint statement calling for Kavala to be released.
Turkish media reported on Sunday that the Foreign Ministry had tried to persuade Erdogan not to expel the ambassadors of 10 foreign countries, but their efforts failed.
On the other hand, the Turkish news agency ANKA reported that the ambassadors of the United States, Germany, Denmark, Finland, France, the Netherlands, Sweden, Canada, Norway and New Zealand have not yet received any warning from the Turkish Foreign Ministry to leave the country.
