France’s oldest Olympian carries the Olympic torch
According to Fars news agency, carrying the torch of the Paris Olympics will begin in May, and Charles Coste will participate in carrying the torch as the oldest French Olympian.
Kost, who turns 100 on February 8, rode in the men’s team cycling event at the 1948 London Olympics 76 years ago. He has a lot of pain in his knees these days but hopes to be able to do his best for Paris 2024.
“This program will be unforgettable for me and I am very proud to do this,” Kost told AFP about carrying the torch. I have to prepare myself physically. My knees hurt a lot but I try to carry the torch a few meters.
