from Beirut to Kerman; Decoding Israel’s terror campaign against resistance figures

Online economy – Mohammad Bayat; Since the end of World War II, Israel has assassinated its opponents and enemies around the world more than any other Western country. Renowned New York Times reporter Ronen Bergman has discussed the history of organized assassinations by the Mossad against political leaders, military commanders, and even Egyptian, Syrian, Iraqi, Lebanese, Palestinian, and Iranian scientists in his well-known work, “Arise and Kill First”. The targeting of PLO leaders and personalities after the events of the Munich Olympics (1972) is perhaps one of the most prominent symbols of Israel’s terror machine in the 20th century. The targeted assassination of Martyr Seyed Razi Mousavi, the head of IRGC support and logistics in Zainabiyah region, and Martyr Saleh al-Arouri, the deputy head of the political office and the head of the West Bank branch of the Hamas movement, in south Beirut, indicate the start of the Zionist terror machine to hit the resistance front and weaken the ceasefire negotiations. It is through diplomatic channels. Israel’s security services believe that the elimination of influential forces on the battle front, while creating a void in the high political-command structures, will cause confusion to the enemy in the short term and increase the vulnerability of the other side on different fronts. Accordingly, in the continuation of this note, we will try to decipher Israel’s terror campaign against the key figures of the resistance axis.

Restoration of lost inhibition

The 7th of October operation was not only an infiltration operation to recapture the occupied Palestinian territories. According to prominent military strategists, the Al-Aqsa storm operation significantly changed the balance of power in the West Asian region in favor of the resistance axis. In this new equation, this limited Palestinian group in the Gaza Strip can enter the 24-kilometer depth of this regime by crossing the smart borders of Israel and take control of a part of the areas for a few days. The occurrence of this military-security disaster for Tel Aviv caused the authorities of this regime to not be able to talk about creating resistance against the axis of resistance as in the past. In other words, the range of attacks by Palestinian groups present in Gaza and the West Bank will not be limited to missile-drone attacks, but the resistance can penetrate deep into the occupied territories and even put military action on the agenda to recapture the Palestinian land. At the same time, the intensification of attacks by Hezbollah in Lebanon and Ansarullah in Yemen in the north-south fronts has challenged the forces of the Israeli army and scattered their concentration in seven different fronts.

Suspects of spying for Israel were arrested by the Turkish security service

On December 4, 2023, Ronen Barr, the head of Israel’s internal security organization, Shin Bet, threatened to target all Hamas leaders in Lebanon, Turkey and Qatar. At the same time as the attack on the evening of Tuesday, January 2 in Beirut, the forces of the Turkish intelligence service claimed to have arrested 33 members suspected of spying for the Mossad by carrying out extensive operations in eight provinces of Turkey. It seems that Tel Aviv intends to provide grounds for the expulsion and exile of Palestinian leaders by challenging the security of the above countries. Another goal of the Mossad service in pursuing the terror campaign is to disrupt the decision-making system and the will of Hamas leaders at the table of political negotiations. Tel Aviv plans to pursue the release of prisoners by creating terror among the resistance groups without accepting a permanent ceasefire and a complete withdrawal from Gaza. On this basis, it seems that the martyr Saleh al-Arouri was not the last targeted assassination by the Zionists and we should be prepared to target other Palestinian leaders as well.

Disruption of the peace process

According to Reuters, while Anthony Blaken was supposed to go to the region for the fifth time to review the latest situation of the Gaza war and the efforts of mediators to end the crisis, apparently the US Secretary of State has decided to delay this trip by a week. It seems that US attacks on Kataib Hezbollah in Iraq and Fatemiyoun forces in Al-Bukamal border region on the one hand and the series of Israeli assassinations against the resistance forces on the other hand have reduced the chances of peace negotiations with Tehran and the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement. According to Anatolia news agency, after the assassination of Al-Aroori, the head of the group’s West Bank branch in Beirut, Hamas has suspended all political negotiations for the release of prisoners. In addition, the assassination of the “most effective” Iranian commander in Syria could be planned with the aim of provoking the advisory forces and resistance groups in Syria. Israel’s anti-Iranian policies did not end with these attacks, and the terrorists supported by this regime killed more than 103 people with bombings in Kerman on Wednesday, July 3rd (the anniversary of the martyrdom of Lt. Gen. Qassem Soleimani) (the latest statistics as of 6:00 p.m. Wednesday). Developments in the field indicate that Tel Aviv intends to increase the chance of a conflict between Iran and the United States by expanding the scope of the war, and in this way achieve its desired goal of restoring the deterrence of this regime in the Middle East region.

Terrorist attack on the martyrdom anniversary of Haj Qassem Soleimani in Kerman

At the same time as the tension in the region increases, Ebrahim Raisi is scheduled to go to Ankara on Thursday with a high-ranking delegation to meet and talk with Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Some experts believe that there is a direct connection between the delay of Blaken’s trip to the Middle East and the presence of a president in Turkey, and it may be a reason for intensifying coordination between Tehran and Ankara to control the scope of the crisis in the Shamat region, the northern Indian Ocean, the mechanism of prisoner exchange and the end of the war.
