From home to training with the stars of Esteghlal, Persepolis and Sepahan in “Iranian Football”

According to Fars News Agency, the documentary series “Iranian Football” directed and produced by Mehdi Mirtimori is the latest production of Sima Documentary Network, which is broadcast on TV.

Mirtimori explained about the subject of this documentary and said: In this 5-part series, we went to the top 5 players of the Iranian league in recent years and depicted their personal and football lives.

He continued: The production of this documentary started 3 years ago; In those days, due to some reasons, there were a lot of strictures for the entry of foreign players into the Iranian league, and maybe this incident caused better footballers to come to our country after that. In the “Iranian Football” documentary series, we went to the 5 stars of our country’s football league. Players who were effective in their club teams. Radoshevich, Gorgi Golsiani, Godwin Mensha, Ayanda Patosi and Hroviye Milich are the 5 players that we visited in this documentary and showed their lives in Iran.

The director of the documentary series “Iranian Football” noted: In these 5 episodes, we are sitting at the feet of the players’ words; They talk about life in Iran and the selection of our country’s league and comment on the customs of Iranians. Also, in another part of this documentary, we go into their football life in the club and training.

He said about accompanying the players to make this documentary: Fortunately, there was a good cooperation from the players and they allowed me to enter their personal and sports lives and talk to them easily. This documentary was a new experience for me and it was the first time I made a sports documentary. Most of my previous experiences were social documentaries and I am very interested in this field, however, I feel that the audience enjoys watching football and sports documentaries more and feels better. For this reason, I will continue making documentaries in this space.

Mirtimori said about the narrative form of this documentary: “Iranian football is made in 5 30-minute episodes and includes interviews with players, use of narration and archival images.”
