From Lupto to Bucharest, the state of the country’s cinema these days/Omid is like a star above us

Fars News Agency-Cinema Group: As far as I can remember, we have been writing about the box office and cinema audience for several months and we are looking for the reason for its decrease. Cinema has not left this issue without comment.

From the very beginning, as the custodian of the seventh art in the country, the Cinema Organization has considered many policies to support cinema, audience and filmmakers, and the implementation method and results of those policies should be reviewed in due course. To what extent these actions have been able to help the state of the country’s cinema, it will take some time to be able to objectively observe its concrete results.

In this report, we do not want to focus too much on the policies of the cinema organization and its results. What is the focus and main idea here is the search for a meaningful relationship between the quality of cinematographic works and its sales. However, this point is not always true and during the past decades, some low-quality works have been record sales. But we still assume that the film is good and of good quality that can be shaped according to the audience’s taste and brought to cinemas.

*Returned contacts

Since last week and since the release of new works on the cinema screen, there was hope for the return of the audience to the theaters that experienced the screenings of 10 to 15 people. .
The release of Lopto, Bucharest, Floor One and a Half and Biro caused a 30% growth in the cinema audience, a growth that may not bring the situation back to normal, but it is definitely significant and important.

* An audience that should not be disappointed

But the most important thing is to keep the audience that has reconciled, from here on the story has only one guardian, artists and cinematographers are the same people who should make the cinema audience grow and maintain it with proper and of course strong production. In this regard, the other day, I sat down to watch the movie Bucharest by Masoud Atyabi in one of the cinemas in Tehran. I look at Atyabi as he is basically a director who brings the audience to the cinema.

It seemed that the number of audience was not small, although this hall has definitely experienced busier days, but this number seemed acceptable. However, this director’s new film did not touch the heart and was a return to the past.

The hall opposite had the animation Lopto for the screening, it can be said that a considerable number of audience was waiting to enter the hall to watch this animation, although the age difference of the audience of the two halls was evident.

Interestingly, the simultaneous occurrence of these two films occupied my mind. One is Bucharest, which generally wants to lower the audience’s taste in the most superficial way possible, and the other is Lopto, which undoubtedly improves the taste of children and teenagers.

*Iqbali which is not a coincidence/ Lopto’s foot is in the middle

Iqbal from the Lopto animation is an event that apart from its quality, the name of the Dolphin boy cannot be considered unaffected. In the screening of the previous animation, the audience was faced with a worthy work and watched the next animation as well, while the quality of Lopto also impressed the audience. It is fertile for the next animation.

Lupto is a work that challenged the duality of the periphery of the center, originated from the city of Kerman and managed to attract many audiences in Tehran. A suitable work, which will keep the children’s audience satisfied and will occupy their minds for a long time due to its visual appeal and content.

* The route that Bucharest takes

This report does not intend to criticize the works on the screen, these references are more from the point of view of reminding that the general cinema audience, those who do not shy away from watching the film in any situation, have their own “taste”, taste and aesthetics. The time has passed to give anything to the audience, today’s audience chooses among various works and undoubtedly the quality of the works, ideas and the way of making the works play a very important role in getting their satisfaction.

The field observation of the actions and behavior of the Bucharest movie audience showed that the Bucharest audience might not be willing to watch Atyari’s next movie. And this is directly related to the quality of the work. When the audience’s taste is ignored and the level of the cinematic work is reduced to home show series, we should no longer expect the audience to wait for the new work of this director.

Bucharest may be more content than Solo and Dynamite, but it is still clearly far from a film that can be called content. And obviously it can be classified under yellow cinema. A movie that ignores the form and only engages in political pieces and repeated jokes.

If we take a look at the cinema sales statistics, we will find that whenever an important, content-oriented, and of course well-made work from an aesthetic point of view is released, it has shaken the cinema audience, even if it is dynamite and the best-selling single.

Is it sales oriented or quality oriented?

Regardless of these contents, Iranian cinema should pay more attention to the content and quality of production rather than considering sales as its focus. Works that increase sales at once and are against thinking can be a temporary housing for cinema, but it seems unlikely that in The constant growth of the audience is effective. Experience has shown that in this medium, a work of good quality will be sold.

It is enough to compare the situation of “Lupto” with “Bucharest”. One with limited facilities and originating from the city, and the other full of prestige and famous faces, but what wins is undoubtedly “quality”. Because it can play a role in shaping the taste of the audience and make them more tasteful, and who doesn’t know that the more the taste improves, the world will be a better place.

It is true that cinema always needs a body cinema along with special and so-called artistic works aimed at entertainment for the general audience and more sales, but at any level where a cinematic work is created, the “audience” is the main issue. Because the audience develops their taste with every work they see. When we always expose him to the works of Benjal and Zard, after a while he will no longer have the desire to see valuable works, because “interest” is based on what we have always exposed him to.

A person who has listened to market music for a lifetime cannot be made interested in classical music all at once. As mentioned, “taste” is formed by being exposed to good works.

In the final analysis, “Cinema” and “Cinemamakers” are the main factors that invite “audience” to cinema halls, people who consider themselves the main owners of cinema and should care more about their audience than anyone else, because this triangle will never be formed if an audience There is no art without an audience.

Therefore, every artist in any field and level that works, his work should be aimed at improving the taste of the audience and always consider an ideal audience for himself in order to be able to bring his work to an acceptable level of quality.

In fact, it is the importance of the “audience’s position” that can promote the country’s cinema. Finally, in today’s cinema field of the country, the production of animations such as Delfini’s Boy and Lopto is a light of hope that should be appreciated. Because these quality works expose children’s taste level to education from the very beginning and improve their aesthetic view.
