Gazprom: Russian gas exports to China hit a record

According to the report of Fars International News Agency, Russia’s Gazprom Company announced the increase in the country’s natural gas exports to China this Friday and said that the amount of gas exports to China through the “Power of Siberia” pipeline reached a historic level on September 10.
Meanwhile, Russia’s gas exports to European countries have decreased significantly, and “Alexander Novak”, the deputy prime minister of this country, said on Thursday that the amount of gas exports to the European Union has decreased by 50 billion cubic meters this year.
Last year, the amount of Russian gas exports to Europe was more than 150 billion cubic meters.
Russia’s Gazprom announced that Russian gas exports to Europe from the full-length Nord Stream 1 pipeline have been halted due to technical problems, but gas transmission through the Ukrainian pipeline continues.
Referring to the lack of gas in Europe, which has caused a lot of security concerns for European leaders in recent weeks, and the efforts of European leaders to replace Russian gas, Gazprom said that no one like Russia can supply gas to European countries.
Gazprom emphasized that the gas resources of any country cannot be compared with the resources we have in Siberia and the Yamal gas field.
While Western countries accuse Moscow of using gas as a weapon, the Russian government has called the Western countries’ sanctions against this country one of the main factors in stopping Russian gas exports to Europe.
In the wake of the Ukraine war, the European Union collectively and the bloc’s countries individually have taken measures in recent months to reduce dependence on Russian oil, gas and coal. These measures have caused energy prices to skyrocket in the West and threaten this union due to the approach of winter. Russian President Vladimir Putin has described the policy of Europeans as “suicide”.
