German and British Foreign Ministers emphasize resumption of Barjami talks – Mehr News Agency | Iran and world’s news

According to the Mehr news agency, the German Foreign Ministry announced in a Twitter message that German Foreign Minister Haiku Moss had a telephone conversation with his British counterpart Liz Terrace.

Issues related to foreign policy, security, as well as the negotiations related to the Borjam agreement, have been the focus of the Moss and Terrace talks.

“We continue to work closely with Britain and Germany on foreign and security policy,” the German Foreign Ministry tweeted. “It was agreed that there is an urgent need to renegotiate with Iran on Borjam.”

The talks came as three European member states, including Britain, France and Germany, issued a statement to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Board of Governors calling for an immediate end to Iran’s uranium production of 20 percent or more.

The countries claimed in the statement that Iran had no legitimate civilian reason for such activities, which provided it with the knowledge needed to use it to build nuclear weapons.

Earlier, German Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Adebahr, without mentioning the US unilateral withdrawal from the UN Security Council in 2018 and the continuation of European passivity regarding its obligations under the UN Security Council international agreement, expressed hope that Iran would meet soon.
