German exports to Russia reached the lowest level in the last 19 years

According to the correspondent of Fars News Agency, citing Reuters, the information provided by Germany’s East European Economic Relations Committee shows that the country’s exports to Russia in 2022 have reached the lowest level since 2023.

Meanwhile, Germany’s exports to Russia in 2022 have decreased by 45% compared to 2021, while Russia’s exports to this country have grown by 11% during the same period. Of course, this increase was due to the increase in the price of oil and gas exported from this country to Germany.

In 2022, Russia will export 37 billion dollars to Germany, and because of this, Germany’s trade deficit with Russia has reached a record low of 22 billion euros.

Michael Harms, the secretary of Germany’s East European Economic Relations Committee, says: German exports of automobiles, spare parts and electronic equipment to Russia will decrease in 2022, and the prospect of trade interaction between the two countries looks bleak.
