Germany’s budget deficit will double as expected

According to the International Group, the German newspaper Spiegel reported that Germany’s budget deficit in 2023 will be equal to 4.5%, which is twice the expected amount.

This newspaper attributed the increase in the budget deficit to the government’s efforts to prevent the increase in electricity and gas prices.

It is expected that the budget deficit will decrease to 2% in 2024 and 1.5% in the following year.
