Governor of Anbar: De-desertification of Iraq requires huge money and regional effort

He added: “Many efforts have been made to ensure the security of companies in Anbar, and it is hoped that the Iraqi Ministry of Oil will take action to complete oil discoveries after canceling the contract with the Korean company.”
Pointing out that the local authorities of Anbar are pursuing the case of oil exploration in this province in cooperation with the Ministry of Petroleum and Saudi-American companies, he said: Many new oil wells have been discovered in Al-Nakheeb and Al-Tharsar (areas near the border with Saudi Arabia) and The Ministry of Petroleum also has its statistics.
Stating that Anbar province has huge reserves of high-quality gas, he expressed hope that by investing in the gas and oil fields of Anbar, investments will be made on natural resources in this province in order to improve the economic reality and electricity reality.
He emphasized: The local government of Anbar province has also taken practical measures to invest in phosphate reserves.
Farhan explained about the suspended factories in the province: Most of the factories and construction companies are suspended and resuming their work requires the legal approval of the parliament and practical measures of the government for investment.
The governor of Anbar also said that dealing with the problem of desertification in this province requires international efforts and the support of the central government and said: Anbar is different from other provinces due to its vast desert areas.
Farhan added: The Ministries of Environment and Agriculture have plans and ideas to eliminate desertification in the province, and it is hoped that the government will allocate funds for this from the next budget. The local government also has studies, but the problem is big and requires international and regional efforts and huge amounts of money.
