Pointing to the reduction of bounced checks to 7% and also the reduction of check-related prisoners, he expressed hope that with new banking services, this amount will be reduced to zero. Mehran Moharmian, Vice President of New Technologies of the Central Bank, also announced the requirement to accept digital checks in the banking network at the unveiling ceremony and clarified: the real person who receives the check can also cash the digital check in absentia and through the system of Saderat Bank of Iran.
Emphasizing that the issuance of paper checks will not be stopped in Saderat Bank of Iran as well as the country’s banking network, Mohramian stated: In fact, with Chekno, a new ecosystem will be created next to the existing one, and after some time, a decision will be made to eliminate paper checks. will take Therefore, the existing conditions for fishing checks will not change.
The vice president of new technologies of the Central Bank also pointed to the positive effects of the check law on the economic environment of the country and said: In previous years, 15% of issued checks were bounced, but in December of this year, this number has decreased to 7% of issued checks. Mohramian added: In 2016, 10 people were imprisoned every day because of bounced checks, now this number has reached one person every two days.
