Grossi: Consultations in Tehran were fruitless – Mehr News Agency | Iran and world’s news

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director-General Rafael Grossi told the Board of Governors on Wednesday that he had held talks in Tehran; It has been fruitless.

He claimed: “Despite my best efforts, these long negotiations and consultations – aimed at addressing the (remaining) issues of Iran’s safeguards, which were described in detail in two reports – were fruitless.

Grossi, meanwhile, has previously claimed that replacing surveillance and inspection equipment at Iran’s nuclear site in Karaj would be a challenge for the international body.

Grossi also called on Iran to answer questions about the origin of the uranium particles found on some of the old sites, which have not been previously reported to the IAEA.

It is alleged that the United States and its European allies normally seek to issue a resolution against Iran in the IAEA on the same pretext, but they avoid doing so on the eve of the start of the seventh round of Vienna talks.
