Grossi’s current trip to Iran; Verification of Atomic Energy Agency Approaches – Mehr News Agency Iran and world’s news

According to Mehr News Agency, the Tehran Times reported on the visit of Rafael Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, to Iran and his meeting with Iranian officials.

The Tehran Times reported that Grossi had previously announced in a Twitter message that he had traveled to Tehran to address issues he considered “outstanding.”

He, who is currently in Tehran, is scheduled to meet with Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian in addition to meeting with Mohammad Islami, head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, as Grossi has long insisted on meeting with him.

Grossi’s visit to Iran comes as Iranian officials complain of extra-organizational political influence over the agency, which is supposed to be a mere technical body.

Earlier, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh stressed the need for the IAEA, as a purely technical body, to refrain from being manipulated by others to advance their goals.

Khatibzadeh had said in his press conference in this regard, referring to Grossi’s visit to Iran: “We hope this trip will be as constructive as the previous ones.” We have always advised the Agency to stay on the path of technical cooperation and not allow some countries to pursue their political goals in the name of the Agency. We make our decisions within the framework of developments and circumstances.

Iranian officials have long complained about the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) ‘s relationship with Tehran, saying the body has raised issues on various issues, from the disclosure of classified documents provided by Iran to putting unsubstantiated allegations on the agenda. The belligerent third parties have not acted professionally.

Grossi’s appreciative position on Iran’s significant cooperation with the IAEA in the past is also discussed. Grossi urges to meet with Iranian officials, especially Iran’s new foreign minister, given Tehran’s restrictions on IAEA oversight of some of Iran’s nuclear facilities.

In recent weeks, Grossi has been pressuring to meet with Iranian officials, especially Iran’s new foreign minister, given the limitations on the IAEA’s ability to monitor some of Iran’s nuclear sites. The TESA Complex in Karaj is a disputed facility between the Agency and Tehran.

The International Atomic Energy Agency has lost access to overseeing the centrifuge plant, largely due to sabotage unofficially attributed to the Zionist regime. The agency refused to blame the Zionist regime in this regard, arguing that the organization is not in a position to make political statements.

This behavior caused a sense of dissatisfaction among the Iranian authorities and led them to relatively reduce their cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency, and they believed that when it comes to Iran, the IAEA shamelessly makes political statements. While ignoring overt and politically motivated acts of sabotage by others.

All of this happened while Iran had twice agreed to technical agreements during Grossi’s recent visits to the country to ensure that the International Atomic Energy Agency continues to monitor Iran’s nuclear facilities.

Therefore, and considering the above, Grossi’s current visit to Tehran will be a test to change his attitude towards Iran. In less than a week, Iran and the P4 + 1 (China, Russia, France and Britain plus Germany) will meet again in Vienna to resume stalled talks.

The Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency is also expected in the coming days Hold a meeting at France’s urging to question and reprimand Iran. Grossi’s assessment of his visit to Iran is likely to determine the course of events in both sessions.
