Guaranteed purchase of 6.5 million tons of wheat this year

According to the economic correspondent of Fars News Agency, Sohrab Sohrabi announced today in a TV program: It is predicted that 6.5 million tons of wheat will be guaranteed from the country’s farmers this year.

The wheat production manager of the Ministry of Jihad for Agriculture, stating that the amount of guaranteed purchase of wheat has exceeded three million tons, added: “This amount has increased by 30% compared to the same period last year.”

According to the official, last year at the same time the guaranteed purchase of the country’s wheat from farmers was 2.2 million tons, which has increased this year.

Sohrabi, meanwhile, said: “70% of the farmers’ money has been paid and there is no problem to pay the rest.”

He said: wheat harvest from farmers has started on April 25 and continues until now, Khuzestan has had the highest wheat production among the provinces this year.
