On Wednesday local time, in a meeting with reporters, the Secretary General of the United Nations expressed his hope that the Persian Gulf countries will calm share the world energy market.
Guterres also said that he is confident that these countries will play an effective role in establishing peace in the region.
The Secretary General of the United Nations, stating that the people of Syria, Yemen, Libya and Palestine have suffered a lot, stated that he wants everyone to talk to solve these problems.
Guterres also expressed hope that the talks between Iran and Saudi Arabia and other talks in the region will be fruitful and contribute to the reduction of tension in the Persian Gulf region.
According to IRNA, so far five rounds of dialogue between Iran and Saudi Arabia have been held in Baghdad, hosted by Iraq, and Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi visited Saudi Arabia and Iran in early July of this year.
Iran and Saudi Arabia have started talks on the security level since April 1400, after the diplomatic relations between the two countries were severed in January 2014. Four rounds of these negotiations were held last year. The fifth round of these talks was held in Baghdad at the beginning of May this year.
The Iraqi Foreign Minister had previously said that Baghdad will use all its power to create suitable opportunities for reaching an understanding between Iran and Saudi Arabia.
On August 31st, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Nasser Kanani stated in a weekly meeting with reporters about Iran-Saudi Arabia talks: “Our talks are based on bilateral issues and have nothing to do with the process of sanctions lifting talks. We have many common issues with Saudi Arabia in the bilateral and regional fields, and we believe that talks to resume official relations between the two countries will serve the interests of both sides.
