Theater News Base: Hadi Hejazifar, who is one of the most talented and well-known puppet artists, returns to the world of puppets after years away from this field, accepting the secretary of the 19th Tehran International Mubarak Puppet Festival.
He, who is one of the artists in the field of puppet shows with performances such as “Romeo Juliet”, “Meeting the Old Lady”, “Circle”, etc., has recently been accepted as the secretary of the Tehran Mubarak Puppet Festival.
In recent years, this actor and director also founded the “Hamoon” theater festival, of which only one period was held in 1398, and its subsequent periods were not possible due to the corona epidemic.
In recent times, the Puppet Festival has had Marzieh Boroumand as its secretary. Boroumand was the secretary of this festival for three consecutive terms in the 15th, 16th and 17th periods, and the secretary of the 18th period was the life of Golzar Mohammadi, who died of an illness before the festival, and this festival was held only with Mehdi as the executive secretary. The Tehran International Mubarak Puppet Festival was usually held in August and September, but this period will naturally be postponed due to the corona situation and also due to the fact that the festival always coincides with the months of Muharram and Safar.

Hadi Hejazifar has been appointed as the secretary of the 19th Tehran-Mubarak International Puppet Festival, according to the Public Relations Department of the General Directorate of Performing Arts.

Hadi Hejazifar is an actor and director of theater, television and cinema, born in 1976. He has a bachelor’s degree in puppetry from the University of Tehran, as well as a master’s degree in acting and directing from Tarbiat Modares University. In the field of puppet theater, Hejazifar won the title of the selected work from the Student Puppet Festival by performing the play “Circle”. In 2006, he won the award for best play at the Mubarak-UNIMA International Puppet Festival for his play “Romeo and Juliet”. The play “Meeting the Old Lady” directed by Hejazifar in 1393 won the title of the selected work of the International Mubarak-UNIMA Puppet Festival.
