Handicraft bazaars will be launched in West Azerbaijan
According to the Arya Heritage report, citing the public relations of the General Directorate of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts of West Azerbaijan, Hossein Mahdizadeh, the mayor and Sasan Tawaklimehr, a member of Urmia City Council, met with Morteza Safari, the Director General of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts of West Azerbaijan on November 28, 1401.

Morteza Safari added: “In the implementation of urban projects, the support of the municipality is a necessary condition, so for the development of tourism in the city and the restoration of the historical context, we need the participation and support of Urmia Municipality as much as possible.”
He continued: “Everyone should pay attention to the fact that in the matter of revitalizing the historical context, in addition to the implementation of the law, we should also consider respecting the rights of the people and the welfare of the people, and as soon as possible, a meeting with the presence of the Director General of Roads and Urban Development of the province and the mayor of Urmia for The examination of issues related to the historical context will be held.
The Director General of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts of West Azerbaijan stated: “Given that the 16th Tehran International Exhibition of Tourism and Related Industries is coming up, Urmia Municipality is invited to participate in this exhibition to introduce the capacities of Urmia’s cultural heritage, tourism and handicrafts.”
Safari pointed out: “One of the emphasis of the governor of West Azerbaijan is to set up a handicraft market in each of the cities of the province, and for this purpose, he has requested the cooperation of Urmia Municipality by donating land for the implementation of this project, and we also request the cooperation of this group in the branding of handicraft products. »
The readiness of Urmia municipality to cooperate in the restoration of the historical fabric of Urmia
In this meeting, the mayor of Urmia, referring to the measures taken to restore the historical fabric of Urmia, stated: “Besides the preservation of the historical fabric, the provision of welfare and the implementation of urban regeneration plans should also be a priority, and Urmia Municipality is ready to provide credit for the restoration of the historical fabric.” »
Hossein Mahdizadeh stated that the introduction of Urmia’s tourism capacities is one of the important priorities of the municipality, and said: “The technology and communication organization of Urmia Municipality has designed a city application through which it is possible to visit the historical attractions virtually, and for further cooperation, a joint memorandum is suggested. To introduce the capacities of tourism, cultural heritage and crafts of Urmia to be signed.”
He continued: “The municipality of Urmia is ready to provide free booths in the Chichest complex to the artists and tourism activists of the province, and we are also ready to hand over the place to set up a craft market in Urmia.”
The mayor of Urmia stated: “Also, the municipality is ready to provide a place for the sale of handicraft products in the commercial centers and parks of the city to the General Directorate of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Crafts of West Azerbaijan.”
Mehdizadeh stated: “Another axis that Urmia Municipality can do in cooperation with the General Directorate of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts of West Azerbaijan is related to holding handicraft training courses, which the cultural, sports and social organization of the municipality can play a role in this field.”
