Handicrafts are the largest art community and the closest art field to our civilization/ the most important foundation and the most effective pillar of culture is handicrafts.

According to the report of Aria Heritage reporter, Seyed Ezzatullah Zarghami said at the closing ceremony of the 7th Fajr International Handicrafts and Traditional Arts Festival (Seru Simin 7) which was held at Milad Tower Convention Hall, he said: I appreciate all those involved in organizing this festival and domestic and foreign guests. This year is the first time that this festival is held internationally.

Engineer Zarghami added: During one week, this festival changed from a calendar-oriented approach to a practical festival. I would also like to thank the vice president of handicrafts, his interactive experience with art and media was influential in holding this festival as well as possible. I would also like to thank the efforts of Mrs. Mahmoudian, the former deputy of handicrafts of this ministry.

The Minister of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts continued: Handicrafts are the largest art community and the closest art field to our civilization. I do not claim this and I have spent my whole life with artists, but today I admit that in all the arts that I have been associated with, there is no art as pure as traditional arts. And it is not handicraft. If cultures are supposed to stand on their own feet, we know that the most important issue that gives strength to sub-cultures is attention to the handicrafts of countries. For example, in India, what has been able to keep them from problems and problems is handicrafts.

Engineer Zarghami added: In addition to the values of handicrafts, due to the main activity of women, we see other values such as hijab, chastity and high values of women in this area. We must protect this area. We are in the process of developing a system of craft issues. In addition, the government and the parliament have a good cooperation with handicrafts, for example, the removal of foreign exchange outsourcing is one of the most important decisions to support handicrafts.
According to the President’s order, a craft market should be established at the entrances of every city by the end of next year. Today, the 13th government is seriously following the discussion of creating craft markets. In addition to creating handicraft markets, stimulating demand through the provision of 20 million tomans facilities, and making handicrafts practical, we are also looking to strengthen the field of handicrafts and traditional arts.

The Minister of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts continued: Fortunately, I regularly see developments in this field, in such a way that handicrafts, along with all the values they have, are becoming practical. Therefore, the issue of packaging is also important, which helps to introduce the true value of handicrafts.

He added: Another issue that needs to be followed up is the issuance of ID cards for handicraft artists. I announced this issue to Mrs. Jalali. We need to make laws and give ID cards to all activists and artisans.

Engineer Zarghami pointed out the problems of handicraft artists and noted: The high cost of raw materials is another problem in the field of handicrafts. I request Mr. Dashti Ardakani, the head of the Parliament’s tourism and cultural heritage faction, who is present in this meeting, to convey the voice of handicraft artists to the representatives. My request to the parliament is that raw materials that become expensive are distributed fairly and cheaply to artists and activists under the supervision of this ministry.
