Handicrafts training course was held for the inmates of Gonabad prison

According to Aria Heritage Report, quoting from the public relations of the General Directorate of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts of Khorasan, Razavi Hamidreza Mahmoudi Qozhdi announced this news and added: Since the beginning of the year, 157 clients have benefited from the training of advanced handicrafts courses.
The head of the Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts Department of Gonabad city continued: 10 advanced training courses were held in the fields of traditional jewelry, leather weaving, shawl weaving, pottery painting and gem carving.
Mahmoudi Qozhdi said: Interactions like this, while teaching professions and industry to the clients who are in prisons for any reason, strengthen the necessary motivation to reform them, and in addition, they become the basis for their personal growth and development.
He clarified: After being released from prison, these people can become self-sufficient, generate income and create employment through hard work and perseverance in that field.
The city of Gonabad has more than a thousand handicraft artists in the fields of pottery and ceramics, woven felt fabric, carpet weaving, gem cutting, leather embroidery, etc., and Gonabad potter is one of the most important crafts of this city, with 22 workshops and stores and 500 people. Artists are working in this field.
This city has 181 works registered in the list of national works of Iran and more than dozens of identified and valuable works as well as dozens of tourist attractions and unique handicrafts.
Gonabad city is located at a distance of 277 kilometers from the south of Mashhad.
