Harry Potter wand dubbing

There were a lot of comments at that time, if something was going to be dubbed, at least 7-8 managers would comment on it, and none of the comments were consistent with each other. But for the reasons I explained, we had to do a new dubbing for the Harry Potter series after many years, and we really tried to do it in such a way that, God forbid, the hard work of Bahram Zand’s life would not suffer and the work that had been done in those years would not be damaged. let’s not

Charso Press: Saeed Sheikhzadeh is an experienced dubber who, in addition to dubbing, has also experienced acting and television performance. He says that he has always liked to speak for famous characters in world movies and until today he had the chance to at least speak for the characters he loved. From Harry Potter and Spiderman to Tintin. In two versions of the “Harry Potter” series, he spoke instead of his character Harry, after years of dubbing Harry’s role was repeated for him again and he says that he is happy that he was able to participate in the dubbing of this series again with less limitations.

Did you think that after a few years, you would take on the dubbing of Harry Potter this time on the home network?
not realy! Every movie we dub takes time, and in this era when the world has become so fast and materials are used very quickly and everything gets old quickly, I did not think that Harry Potter still has viewers and fans. It is very interesting that I see many children of the new generation who collect photos of Harry Potter characters and follow their stories. This shows what stories they wrote and what they did at that time, that even after many years, the Harry Potter book is still on sale, and its series is popular among the new generation, and they still ask me to speak for Harry. It is very interesting to me, but I think that after this dubbing, another dubbing should not be repeated.
Why?
Because this dubbing is so good that I think it can’t get better than this.

In addition to the charms that this character and its dubbing had for you, what challenges did you face during the work? How much has the experience you gained in these years helped you to better dub this character in this series?
When I was working and I was doing the narration of this character, a lifetime or a world passed before my eyes, I went back 20 years, when I was chosen for the first time, Zindayad Bahram Zand was chosen for the first time instead of the character of Hari Harf Hit. At that time I was around 23-24 years old and it was a great honor to be able to speak for a famous person who is known all over the world. At that time, there was no Internet like now, and we were not very familiar with the words and topics related to Harry Potter. We had no way to update our information. Later, when the Internet came, we realized that the story is much more than what we had thought about. The series of “Harry Potter” movies had taken the whole world, maybe we didn’t know about it, but it had made a lot of noise in the whole world. At that time, there were only movie magazines or one or two other movie magazines that were published month after month and wrote news about Harry Potter movies. Regarding the second part of your question, I have to say, as time goes by, you become stronger and more mature, it’s interesting that during this time I was dubbing the role of Harry, it was as if my eyes were more focused and I could see more and pay more attention to details than a few years ago. It is interesting that as I got older, I was not only sad, I was also happier.

Must be because your experience bag has become fuller?
Exactly, I feel like I see the world with more beautiful colors and more details.
Did you think that one day they would come to you again for dubbing the role of Harry? Have you thought about dubbing Harry Potter again in these years?
No, because I honestly didn’t think that this collection would ever be dubbed from the beginning. But I am happy that this happened again now that our working conditions have changed somewhat. At that time, they took issue with everything, that is, we could not even use the word magic, magic is a fantasy word, this whole film is the same, and there is no reason to want to introduce it into philosophical issues and look at it in a different way. This movie is for children and the story is fantasy. But unfortunately, at one time, everything was strict and everything was under the microscope, but I don’t think it should be like this, even in many cases we censor ourselves because of these strictures, we had this problem then too, because we were afraid to dub the film and get the license. Don’t worry, we used to censor many words. But fortunately, this good version, which has been dubbed after many years, is presented with minimal censorship. Good luck to the new generation who can see this version with very little censorship and very good dubbing.
What are the significant differences between this version, which has just been dubbed for Filmo, and the previous version, in which you were also a dubber for Harry Potter?
A large part of the fact that I am here now, as a dubbing person with a lot of work experience, and talking about dubbing, is because of the living presence of Bahram Zand. It was a matter of pride that many of the things I did were always for Mr. Zand and he managed their dubbing. It’s a pity that they left us too soon, but they are undoubtedly one of the legends of dubbing. It is impossible to talk about the work they did in dubbing or the dubbing management they were in charge of; Because it is really flawless. Regarding Harry Potter dubbing, I must say that he did his best at the time, and our problem was only the restrictions and strictures that existed at that time. In this version, we referred to the books and tried to implement many of the magical words of the Harry Potter world like a book. At that time, because we did not have access to the Internet, some words and words of Harry Potter and the story had problems, but in this version, all of them have been corrected.
I remember that there were a lot of comments at that time, if something was going to be dubbed, at least 7-8 managers would comment on it, and none of the comments were compatible with each other. But for the reasons I explained, we had to do a new dubbing for the Harry Potter series after many years, and we really tried to do it in such a way that, God forbid, the hard work of Bahram Zand’s life would not suffer and the work that had been done in those years would not be damaged. let’s not
Harry Potter has a lot of fans, which character are you a fan of?
Definitely Harry Potter! If it wasn’t for him, I would have talked about it. Harry Potter is very attractive to me and I love it, but the interesting thing is that the doubles usually like to speak instead of famous actors, everyone who comes in this field wants to speak instead of Tom Cruise or Tom Hanks or other famous actors one day. But it is interesting to tell you that since the day I became a doubler, I liked to speak in place of famous characters, not actors, and fortunately, this has happened several times, and I have spoken in place of Harry Potter and Spider-Man, whom I love, or, for example, Tintin, who He is a really popular character. When I speak for the characters, I have the opportunity to be myself, and it’s not like I want to follow the actor, on the contrary, I can create a character myself, and this is very attractive to me.
Did you take the Harry Potter wand that you have with you to the recording session?
During the recording, when I said the first and second parts, I kept doing Harry’s movements with my hand and saying and performing the words, then the children worked hard and made this wand for me. It was as if I was missing something and from then on the wand was always with me and it’s very interesting that since I got hold of it, I felt much better about what I was doing. In the first days when I got this stick, I had a date and I went with this stick, there was a dear who is a fan of dubbing work and he is very kind to me, he also gave me a ring. Since I played the role of Frodo in “The Lord of the Rings”, they gave me that ring as a souvenir. In short, that day was a very interesting day for me, because I got both Harry’s wand and the Lord of the Rings ring!

Let’s go back to years ago and when you were first chosen to dub Harry Potter, can you tell us about the memories of those days? How did it happen that you were chosen as the dubbing of the main character of Harry Potter?
In those years, there was a lot of discipline in everything, even in filmmaking, and when you went to filmmaking companies, you felt that order completely. In the work of dubbing, this issue was very common and it was completely visible. The dubbing managers did not warm to those who had just entered the work, and some did not even say hello. We were invited to dub Harry Potter, of course, they usually invite a group, and I, along with a few others, were invited by the dubbing assistant director to go to the studio. We didn’t even know what was going to be dubbed, because they didn’t tell us anything at all, and if one day, God forbid, our curiosity blossomed and we asked what would be dubbed? They used to tell us that you are not yet at the point where you want to know what movie will be dubbed! The day we were invited for this job, we all went at 9 am, there were a lot of young people, because the Harry Potter movie has many young characters.
How old were you then?
I was 22 or 23 years old, although I probably looked younger than my age. That day, Mr. Zand came with the same first-class outfit and neat suits, they had a few pages of dialogue in their hands, and they looked at us and said to me, Saeedjan, come and see what you are doing; I took the dialogues and saw that it was Harry Potter. I was very happy and from that day I told the children I am Harry and follow me. Of course, along with these sweets, being Harry Potter was also a very heavy duty for me; Because at that time, it was a very difficult and heavy responsibility to be present with the dubbing greats, including Zindiad Manouchehr Esmaili, the late Jalilund, Ostad Erfani, Ostad Valizadeh, Mrs. Maryam Shirzad and Zohra Shokofande. For me, that work was really a university and maybe beyond.
