“Hero” was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Picture

The Academy Awards have released a list of 276 films eligible to compete in the 94th Best Picture category.

This year, 10 films are set to be definitively nominated for the Best Picture category, unlike in recent years when the number varied between 5 and 10 films.
All 276 films meet the eligibility criteria, including showing in a commercial cinema in one of six U.S. metropolitan areas, including Los Angeles and five New York City areas, from March 1 to December 31, 2021, and for at least seven consecutive days in these theaters. Cinemas or cinema-machines are screened.
The movie “Hero” made by Asghar Farhadi will be released in a limited way in American cinemas from January 7 and in public cinemas from January 21 (February 1).
This film is the representative of Iranian cinema in the category of the best international film of the 2022 Oscar and has been included in the list of initial nominees, including 15 films.
The final voting for the finalists for the 94th Academy Awards begins on January 27 and ends on February 1, and the final nominees for all categories will be announced on February 8.
