Currently, there are more than 100,000 historical works that can be registered in the list of national monuments in this province, and so far more than 2,000 works have been registered in the list of national monuments. These works are visible and it is necessary that the general public also stand by the legal guardians and protect the culture and historical knowledge and know that the protection of each of these works is actually preserving their identity and proving the civilization and culture of our ancestors.

There are many prominent and important historical works that are waiting for the allocation of funds and a little attention from the guardians and lovers of cultural heritage to protect them from the sharp blade of time, in the historical and civilizational region of Razavi Khorasan, and although it seems that the hope is still alive in their bodies. ICOMOS, the International Council of Historical Buildings and Sites, which operates as a non-profit organization or institution under the supervision of UNESCO, has designated April 18, which coincides with April 29, as the International Day of Historical Buildings and Sites, in order to preserve and restore historical sites. It has been named as an opportunity to address this valuable part of the national identity.

Unparalleled growth of registration of historical monuments in the national heritage row

Director General of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts of Khorasan Razavi stated that before the victory of the Islamic Revolution, the number of historical and cultural monuments registered in the national list in this province was only 108, adding: After the Islamic Revolution and with great attention to the importance Historical, cultural and heritage works are getting old, the number of registered works of the province in the national heritage row has now reached more than 2 thousand works.

Seyyedjavad Mousavi said: Last year, in the field of preservation and restoration of historical monuments of the province, the restoration plan of 35 historical works was implemented, among which we can mention the collections of Naderi Garden, Ferdowsi Tomb, Attar and Khayyam.

He added: In the implementation of some restoration projects, including in Bejastan Jame Mosque, Asbadhai Khaf, Green Dome, and Azizullah Af Palace in Mashhad, the restoration plan has been approved by the Technical Council and will reach the stage of employing the contractor next week.

Director General of Cultural Heritage of Khorasan Razavi, referring to the good credits approved by the President’s visit to the province in this area, said: 150 billion Tomans is the approved credit for the restoration of historical monuments and the creation of the Museum of the Revolution and the restoration of a number of caravanserais in the province, and the work is being done.

He pointed out that last year, the review of five historical sanctuaries in the province was done, so that while preserving the sanctuaries and protecting them, people’s problems could be solved as much as possible in these cases.

Khorasan Cultural Heritage Vice President Razavi stated: “For this reason, every year we have to prioritize historical works and monuments for carrying out restoration operations in 2 emergency or comprehensive sections, and for this reason, priority is given to works that are at risk.”

He emphasized: In this regard, we consider 100 historical works as an index for restoration, and we carry out restoration operations throughout the year by securing funds.

Khorasan Razavi’s vice president of cultural heritage, without referring to the amount of national and provincial funds, said: Last year, 100% of national funds were provided in this area, but part of the provincial funds have not yet been provided, and we hope that by the end of the financial year, we will witness a positive allocation process in this area. be part

He clarified: We are not at all satisfied with the amount of funds allocated for the province because the number of our landmark buildings in the province is large and the restoration and maintenance of cultural heritage complexes, including the tombs of Ferdowsi, Attar, Khayyam and Beyhaqi, require much more funds.

He emphasized: The important question is how much people and those in charge of urban development are familiar with the words related to this historical book and how much they believe in cultural heritage. It should be said, unfortunately, the level of familiarity is very little and most businessmen, who are more than ordinary people, also look at cultural heritage as a “treasure”.

Pahlavan stated: In fact, cultural heritage is a treasure, but not a treasure that can be sold, rather, this national treasure belongs to all people and all capital.

He emphasized: The connection between the past, the present and the future can only be made and established through these cultural treasures, so that we can create a better future based on what our ancestors have left behind.
