Holding the second meeting of the Joint Project Steering Committee with the International Trade Center (ITC) / Training of Iranian companies


The Advisor for International Affairs and Trade Agreements of the Trade Development Organization of Iran announced the holding of the second meeting of the Joint Project Steering Committee with the International Trade Center (ITC) with the presence of representatives of the European Union and the International Trade Center and representatives of domestic agencies.

According to Shata, Mirhadi Sidi stated this news: in this meeting, a review of the measures taken in the framework of this project will be done and the plan of future actions will be approved.

He stated that in 2016, in order to benefit from the expertise of international experts in the development of the country’s non-oil exports, the Trade Development Organization signed a memorandum of understanding with the International Trade Center (ITCHe concluded: “The implementation of this memorandum became possible at the end of 1397 and after the allocation of the necessary budget by the European Union to the International Trade Center to provide specialized assistance to the Trade Development Organization.”

The Advisor for International Affairs and Trade Agreements of the Trade Development Organization of Iran said: “Various activities were developed in the framework of this joint project, which has been implemented during the last two years with the presence of various stakeholders and technical assistance of prominent international experts in various fields.” One of the key activities of the project was the development of a national export strategy with the presence and serious consultation of the private sector and relevant government agencies.

Sidi continued: “Accordingly, in 1398, among the above five cases, the process of” formulating a national export strategy “began, and at the end of 1399, the formulation of this strategy was completed and its seven volumes were finalized.

He added: “The national export strategy has been developed with the participation of the public and private sectors and with the benefit of the specialized power of the International Trade Center, and in fact the result is the consensus of these three sectors.” Therefore, from this perspective, it is important and deserves attention.

According to the International Affairs Advisor and Trade Agreements of the Trade Development Organization of Iran, 359 practical measures have been recommended in the National Export Strategy, with the help of the International Trade Center and the guidance of the Trade Development Organization and the participation of relevant agencies such as the Ministry of Agriculture, Communications and information technology will be implemented during 5 years 1400 to 1404.

Sidi continued: “Other pillars of the project include supporting the Trade Development Organization of Iran to effectively serve small and medium enterprises, improving the business capacity of small and medium enterprises, as well as helping institutions and organizations providing services to businesses, value chain development.” He also mentioned facilitating trade and supporting youth entrepreneurship.

He added: “Other activities are also planned in the project, which can have practical results for the development of Iranian export businesses.” In this case, we can mention the joint virtual business meeting of Iran and the European Union with the presence of more than 3400 participants from dozens of countries, which was held in the winter of 1399.

It is worth mentioning that in this regard, the Trade Development Organization will hold the second meeting of the steering committee of this project with the presence of representatives of the European Union and the International Trade Center and representatives of domestic agencies on Monday, December 12th. In this meeting, a review of the measures taken in the framework of this project will be done and the plan of future actions will be approved.
