Houshang Tavakoli: The president is a humble man / The helm of the Ministry of Culture is in the hands of concerned managers

According to the Fars news agency’s cinema correspondent, last night (Thursday, April 16), 170 prominent artists of the country were the guests of the president’s Iftar dinner. The artists talked to Seyed Ibrahim Raisi about their problems and concerns and the state of the country’s art.

We talked about this feast with Houshang Tavakoli, a veteran director and actor in cinema and theater, and he said about this ceremony: “The president’s iftar feast was a very simple ceremony and its simplicity stemmed from the sincerity of this ceremony.” The reason for this sincerity is that Mr. President is a humble man and in the environment in which he finds himself, there is no news of arrogance, pride and humiliation.

He continued: “The artists talked to Mr. Raisi about their problems and concerns at the ceremony, and Mr. President patiently listened to all the artists’ speeches and instructed his assistants to follow up on these problems and concerns of the artists.”

The veteran director of cinema and theater noted: In last night’s program, the directors of our country’s culture and art were also present and examined the problems of the artists. One of the characteristics of Mr. Raisi as the President of our country, in my opinion, is that he can speak to artists in a simple and sincere language and hear the problems of artists and find solutions to them.

Tavakoli said: “Such meetings are very important because they can create a kind of spirit of empathy that this spirit of empathy causes important and fundamental events in the field of art in our country.” For this reason, the artistic directors of the country should take such meetings seriously and increase it. Of course, this is hard work; But I hope it is done.

He continued: “Fortunately, knowledgeable and concerned directors have now taken the helm of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance, and this promises better days for our country’s art.” Unfortunately, no matter how humble the president and his managers are, a part of our country’s artistic community still plays a destructive role due to political tendencies. At the moment, a good opening is taking place in the art of our country, and we must see it with open eyes and help to realize it as best we can.
