Housing 30% of the urban population in dysfunctional contexts

According to Tejarat News, quoting the Iran Urban Reconstruction Company, the Minister of Roads and Urban Development in a ceremony appointed Mohammad Aini as the Deputy Minister, Chairman of the Board and CEO of the Iran Urban Reconstruction Company.

Aini said at the ceremony: According to the Sixth Development Plan, 270 neighborhoods in dysfunctional urban contexts in the country should be recreated annually.

According to Aini, 20 percent of urban areas are occupied by dilapidated structures and informal settlements, and an average of 30 percent of the urban population lives in dysfunctional structures.

He added: “According to Article 59 of the Sixth Plan Law, at least 10% of the worn-out urban fabric must be repaired and rehabilitated annually, and this will be achieved by providing incentive packages and appropriate facilities.”

The CEO of Iran Urban Reconstruction Company stated that in line with the National Housing Movement, we should direct and direct production to the target areas and neighborhoods of urban regeneration. Complete the city with the cooperation of the company’s hard-working colleagues.

Aini pointed out that empowerment and skills training of residents in the target areas and neighborhoods of urban regeneration is very important, he added: Return and encourage the residents of these areas to renovate their units.

Emphasizing that without the participation of the residents of the target neighborhoods, the private sector and the participation of all institutions related to the field of regeneration, renovation measures will not be completed, he noted: Will be Iran Urban Reconstruction Company.

The official said: “Also, a coherent plan for the development and transformation of the community-based 2,020 neighborhoods has been set at a very large level in the field of urban regeneration, which will be announced and implemented soon.”
