Lack of access to affordable housing also means that the percentage of people whose share of housing is more than 30% of their expenses, which specifically includes the target population of housing support programs.

Accordingly, the rate of lack of access to affordable housing in urban areas is 49 percent (9.5 million households) and the rate of poor housing in rural areas is 40 percent (2.4 million households).

Shahab added: The average country rate of homelessness (households with at least one housing deprivation) in the country in 1399 is 19%, among which the highest rate of homelessness is related to Hormozgan province with 64.75% and the lowest rate of homelessness is related to Ilam province with It is 4.30%.

The expert of the Social Welfare Studies Office of the Ministry of Cooperatives, Labor and Social Welfare continued: “Also, the rate of households without affordable housing (tenants) in 1399 is 57%, with the highest rate in Tehran at 79.9% and the lowest in Khorasan.” South with 8.3 percent.

He said that the indicators of housing poverty in poor households are twice as high as those in non-poor households: “Poor refers to a family whose income is below the absolute poverty line.”

Also, the indicators of housing poverty in female-headed households have a significant difference compared to male-dominated.

He also announced the most deprived provinces in the country based on the indicators of the housing sector and stated: The most deprived provinces in the housing sector are Sistan and Baluchestan and Kerman, which are in a worse situation than the national average in five of the six indicators studied in the housing sector. .

Shahab also explained about the share of housing in household expenses in the 90s and said: The trend of increasing the share of housing costs in the country since 1397 has increased more rapidly than in previous years and economic conditions are one of the main reasons for this event.

Accordingly, the share of housing costs in the household expenditure basket in Iran has been about 1.7 times this ratio in the European Union and the Eurozone.
