In this connection, Seyed Hossein Shakri, an expert in housing and urban development, criticized the land situation in the country in an interview with Fars Economic Correspondent and stated: The total area of ​​urban areas in Iran was nearly 900 thousand hectares.

This housing expert emphasized: Compared to Iran’s 165 million hectares, it is clear that even one percent of the country’s land has not been used for urban development and housing construction, and the overloading of cities has happened only in 0.5 percent of the country’s area.

Shakri stated: It is obvious that the lack of urban development and the lack of supply of land in the country has increased the prices in the land and housing market.

This housing expert emphasized: To hand over 4 million pieces of land with a size of 400 square meters to the people, only 160 thousand hectares of land is needed, which includes less than 0.1% of the country’s land; By handing over land at a low price and 99-year lease, the government can eliminate the high share of land in the cost of housing construction and prepare the ground for the free fall of land prices.
