How cars are priced is changing

According to Tejaratnews, before the formation of the 13th government and according to the statements made before the election of President Ibrahim Ra’isi, it seemed that the problem of orderly pricing of cars in the new government would be solved. However, the Ministry of Silence has not yet provided a plan in this regard.

The ministry plans to complete a comprehensive plan for the auto industry in the next two weeks, but to date there has been talk of whether pricing and changing current policies in this area will be included. Has not been.

However, considering the great problems and challenges of the automotive and parts industries, it seems that a consensus has been formed on changing the pricing method of domestic cars. Accordingly, it is possible that the gradual adjustment and elimination of mandatory pricing has also been seen in the comprehensive program of the Ministry of Silence for the automobile industry.

There are reasons why the desired consensus has been formed in the government and the Ministry of Silence (although Minister Reza Fatemi Amin has not commented on this issue) and among these we can mention eight cases.

Stopping the supply of overproduction products, growth in production losses and accumulated losses, lack of liquidity, decline in production and supply of cars, growth in debt of automakers to parts manufacturers, impossibility of revaluation of property and assets, sharp decline in exports and heavy growth in car prices in the market are eight reasons. According to them, it seems that a consensus has been formed on changing the pricing policy of domestic cars.

But other reasons for the consensus on the gradual transition from regulatory pricing are the sharp drop in exports and the sharp rise in prices in the market. Recent statistics on car exports this year show a decline of 60%, which is related to the quality, price and after-sales service of cars. Export is one of the main programs of the Ministry of Silence in the automotive industry, because this ministry has planned to export one million units for the year 1404. However, due to the lack of liquidity (and, of course, sanctions), the cars produced do not have the necessary quality for sustainable and extensive exports, and car manufacturers can not afford to spend on export development. Therefore, improving exports is also tied to pricing, and policymakers hope to revitalize car exports by changing the way pricing is done. Finally, the rise in car prices in the market, which contradicts the government’s policy of regulating the market, is another reason that has formed a consensus on changing the pricing direction.

But there is also evidence of a consensus in the government on the gradual transition from car pricing, including a recent letter from the head of the stock exchange to the Minister of Economy, as well as remarks by Minister Samat on a comprehensive plan for the car industry and the elimination of lotteries.
