According to Tejarat News, the head of the budget committee of the Tehran Islamic Council said to the head of the tax affairs organization: the implementation of the tax collection law empty houses And leave the luxury to the municipalities.

ISNA Maysham Mozafar said today in the court of Tehran city council, referring to the presence of the head of the country’s tax affairs organization in the city council, that 20% of empty houses in the country with an approximate number of 500 thousand units are in Tehran province, of which 300 thousand units are estimated to be in the city. Tehran and its 200,000 units are located in the outskirts of Tehran.

He emphasized: Real estate brokers buy properties in Tehran and keep them vacant during a period of 3 to 6 years of recession and sell them at the same time as the periodical peak of inflation and increase in housing prices.

Muzaffar continued: “Empty houses have brought trouble to the rental market, and there is a need for urgent action.”

Referring to the real estate audit system of Tehran Municipality, this member of the council said: Through these specialized systems that it has created, Tehran Municipality can instantly calculate complete and detailed information.

For example, the municipality can easily declare the houses above 350 meters in zone 1 through this system to identify luxury properties based on the selection of a system with the zip code and the owner’s profile, and the municipality has different and powerful tools to collect this tax, whether it is a tax on empty houses and What tax does it have on luxury homes?

Muzaffar added: It seems that the implementation of this law is possible and practical only with the cooperation of municipalities, so if the income from this tax is available to municipalities, this law, which has not been implemented for more than 2 years, will be implemented.
