How does Iran play a role in America’s backyard? – Mehr news agency Iran and world’s news

According to Mehr News Agency, the “National Review” analytical database published a report titled “Iran is increasing its influence on Venezuela; America should be careful” he considered Iran to be an effective actor in Latin American equations and the American sanctions did not have an effect on restricting this country. Below is a summary of this report;
Since the fall of 2020, we have seen the growing trend of “Nicolas Maduro” in Venezuela and the government of “Hassan Rouhani” in Iran, and now these relations are expanding in the president’s government as well. Since then, the Iranians have helped Venezuela bypass the US sanctions in the field of energy, and in return, they have sought to control more of the country’s oil industry, as well as key sectors of the Venezuelan economy.
In this month, two important events took place that illustrated the evolving trend of anti-American relations between Tehran and Caracas; Issues that show that as Iran’s influence in Venezuela increases, the national security of the United States will decrease.
The first incident occurred in Buenos Aires, during which the Argentine government seized a Venezuelan Boeing 747 cargo plane. According to Anibal Fernandez, the Minister of Security of Argentina, the plane was seized because some of its crew were related to the Quds Force of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and this overseas force of the IRGC has been included in the list of terrorist groups by the United States since 2007. Therefore, the Argentine government confiscated the passports of 19 crew members, five of whom were Iranian.
The second incident occurred in connection with Tehran-Caracas relations in Venezuela, when an Iranian tanker was transporting about one million barrels of light crude oil for processing in Venezuelan refineries; A deal that is under US sanctions and all foreign companies are prohibited from doing it with Venezuelan oil companies.
However, unlike our first report on these illegal transactions in 2020, this time Iran’s shipments to Venezuela were not hidden by the authorities of the two countries. In fact, Iranian media reported last week that this is their third shipment to Venezuela in the past month. This is a clear proof that US energy sanctions against Venezuela and Iran are not only not working, but even the authorities of Tehran and Caracas are not afraid of these sanctions and do not take them seriously.
This lack of seriousness and disregard for sanctions is not only aimed at Iran and Venezuela, and even China systematically violates US sanctions by buying oil from these two countries.
All these evidences indicate that the US embargo policy is not working properly, and if it is not reviewed, it will definitely fail, and worse, this failure will bring unwanted political, economic and geopolitical consequences for America.
Iran currently has valuable strategic partners in South America, which is evidenced by the signing of a 20-year cooperation roadmap with Venezuela this month, while the United States stands aside and watches.
