How many cars will be imported this year?

According to Eqtesadonline, quoting Tasnim, the head of the Industries and Mines Commission of the Islamic Consultative Assembly said: “After reviewing the commissions of the Expediency Council, it was approved that the government import cars that are low-consumption and safe without a roof.”

Ezatullah Akbari Talarpashti added: “To date, there has been support for car manufacturers, which according to the Supreme Leader should not be abused, and the structure of the two car manufacturers should be reformed. For example, the government should be an observer instead of a shareholder and an intervention.”

Referring to the previous parliamentary resolution on the import of 70,000 cars, he said: “First, with the orders of the leadership, the resolution was completely amended and we gave the government the authority to import cars for the general public as much as it can regulate the market.” Article 4, which dealt with the export of parts and the import of cars, was deleted.

The representative of the people in the 11th parliament added: the regulations for importing cars are prepared by the government and the government must prepare the conditions for importing.

He said: “Today, there is a vacuum of 500,000 cars in the market, which makes the space competitive with imports.”
