How much did housing prices grow in August? / Rent; Still on the upward path – Tejaratnews

According to Tejarat News, Iran’s Statistics Center has recently released the country’s household consumer price index after a five-day delay compared to the previous months. Based on this, in August 1402, point-to-point inflation was equal to 39.8%; It means that the country’s households have spent 39.8% more on average than in August of last year to buy the same set of goods and services. Point-to-point inflation means the percentage change of the price index compared to the same month of the previous year.

Also, in August of this year, the monthly inflation of the country’s households was equal to 2.4%, the monthly inflation for the major groups of food, beverages and tobacco was 2.6% and for the major group of non-food goods and services was 2.4%. Of course, a part of this monthly report of the Iranian Statistics Center is also dedicated to the inflation in the housing market, which is considered a subset of non-food goods.

Housing and rent inflation in August

Housing is the second non-food item that experienced the highest inflation during August 1402. The monthly inflation of this basic need is 3.3% and its point-to-point inflation is 38.5%. The annual housing inflation has also reached 36.6 in August.

The monthly inflation growth in the rental market has also been recorded at 3.3% in line with the housing market. Also, the annual inflation of this market has grown up to 36.5% and its point-to-point inflation is estimated at 38.4%.

Censorship report on developments in the housing market

The last time was the winter of last year when the Iranian Statistics Center published a report on the developments in the housing market in Tehran. This censorship of statistics was done by the government as a result of the unprecedented growth of prices and the reactions of people and critics.

Now, except for the general report of the consumer index that is published every month by the statistics center, no official statistics of this market are available anymore, and this issue has caused confusion for the applicants and suppliers in this market.

The difference between inflation in the society and declared inflation

According to the report, the statistics center of Iran stated that the inflation of the housing and rental market is less than 40%. This is when people have experienced a heavy price increase, especially since the beginning of this year.

Many tenants were practically unable to renew their contract in the past months after their contract expired and were forced to move to lower areas, a house with less facilities, and the outskirts of the city.

Also, despite the fact that the 13th government considers the relative decrease in housing prices in the past months as one of its achievements, real estate consultants say that buyers for real estate are rarely found anymore and the market has plunged into recession.
