Do AirPods work on Android?

The answer is yes, Apple’s AirPods are actually standard Bluetooth wireless hands-free and therefore compatible with any Android smartphone or tablet. It is possible to connect them even to non-Android devices provided that those devices are equipped with Bluetooth.

After connecting AirPods to Android devices, it is possible to listen to music and also use their microphone to make phone calls. The only weakness is the lack of control over some features of AirPods.

For example, it is not possible to check the remaining charge of AirPods through Android devices (although there is a paid application in the Play Store for this purpose). It is also not possible to change the function of double tapping on AirPods and perform a specific action on Android devices. These functions can be customized only through Apple products.

How to connect AirPods to Android phones

First, to pair AirPods with your Android phone, you need to put them in Discovery mode so that the phone can find them.

For this purpose, put the AirPods in the charging box. Keep the box open. Then press and hold the button on the back of the charging box.

The white light on the charging box will start flashing, indicating that the AirPods are ready to pair.

To start the process of connecting your smartphone to AirPods, go to the phone settings section, and after finding the Bluetooth & Device Connection section, enter the Bluetooth section settings. Of course, depending on the smartphone brand, this path may be slightly different.

Make sure the button intended to turn on the phone’s Bluetooth is turned on. Then tap on Pair New Device option.

Wait a few moments for the phone to identify and list all AirPods in the Available Devices section. After this, select the desired AirPods from the list.

In the message that appears, click Pair to start the process of connecting the phone to the AirPods.

After a few seconds, your phone will connect to the AirPods.

After completing the connection process, it’s time to listen to your favorite music, make phone calls, record audio, and do anything else that requires a microphone and speaker. Remember that you need to use Apple products to change some functions of AirPods.
