HTC returns to the high-end phone market with the U23 Pro

For a long time, HTC has distanced itself from the market of flagship and high-end phones. The latest flagship of this Taiwanese brand named U12 Plus arrived in 2018, which, although it used a transparent body and did not have any physical buttons, was not well received and left the competition to Samsung and Apple. But now HTC seems to be unveiling a new U-series phone: the HTC U23 Pro.

Every once in a while, HTC unveils low-end or at best mid-range phones. For example, several weeks ago the low-end Wildfire E3 Lite was introduced with a Unisoc chip. Although the company has not been able to gain significant market share, it is apparently working on a high-end phone.

HTC U23 Pro on Geekbench

An HTC phone called U23 Pro In Geekbench 6 It appears to be a high-end phone. This smartphone is equipped with an 8-core chip that uses a powerful core with a frequency of 2.40 GHz, 3 cores with a frequency of 2.36 GHz and 4 cores with a frequency of 1.80 GHz. It seems that we are dealing with Snapdragon 7 generation 1; However, its single-core score is higher and its multi-core score is slightly lower than phones equipped with this chip.

Although Snapdragon 7 generation 1 is a mid-range chip that is mostly developed for budget gaming phones, it has acceptable features and can be used in high-end phones as well. In addition, 12 GB of RAM is used in the HTC phone, which is more common in high-end and flagship phones.

Currently, we don’t have any specific information about HTC U23 Pro except Geekbench benchmark results, however, we will probably see its introduction in the near future. We will have to wait and see how HTC wants to re-enter the high-end phone market and whether it can win back customers.
