There is a bug in the Huawei App Gallery store that allows users to download paid apps for free!
Ever since the war between China and the United States escalated, Huawei decided to develop its own software solutions to bypass the ban on using Google services. One of these solutions is the Huawei App Gallery application store, something similar to Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
The App Gallery store also has bugs that, according to one of the developers, have not yet been fixed, despite having reported one of these problems a few months ago. This bug allows users who have a little technical knowledge to download paid applications for free from Huawei App Gallery without paying. And that’s bad news for developers who put their apps up for sale on the store.
Dylan Roussel, the developer who discovered the problem, emphasizes that the problem is not due to the developer not enabling permission verification, but rather a flaw in the store itself that has not yet been resolved. He says the AppGallery API doesn’t provide any protection against paid apps.
The free download of paid apps from Huawei App Gallery has angered the developers
This developer says that by using this security loophole, he was able to easily download and use such a paid application. This is a huge problem that can prevent developers from making money and allow profiteers to get access to a wide variety of apps that took days and months to develop for absolutely free. Although we hope that Huawei will get to this issue soon and solve it.
