Hugh Grant joins the horror film / English actor becomes a “renegade”?

The famous English actor is in talks to join a new movie from the creators of A Quiet Place.

Charso Press: According to The Hollywood Reporter, Hugh Grant is in talks to join Scott Beck and Brian Woods’ new film A Quiet Place.

Beck and Woods are in charge of writing the screenplay and directing this film titled “The Apostate”. Although the exact details of the film’s story are kept under wraps, it is said that the story focuses on 2 missionaries who try to change a dangerous man.

The project is slated to begin shooting in July, but like any movie shooting this summer, production could be affected by a possible Actors Guild strike. Earlier this week, members of the association voted overwhelmingly to call for a possible strike if a new contract is not reached by the June 30 deadline.

New York-based independent studio A24 beat out other companies to score this film in the horror-thriller genre.

Beck and Woods, who wrote “A Quiet Place,” also directed the 2019 horror film “The Hunt” and Sony’s sci-fi film “65,” starring Adam Driver. Recently, they appeared in theaters with the horror movie “Boogieman” for the 20th Century Company, which they wrote themselves.

Hugh Grant was last seen in theaters with the movie “Black Holes and Dragons”. His next film is “Willy Wonka” by Warner Bros. opposite Timothée Chalamet. His next works will include the mini-series “Diet” starring Kate Winslet and Andrea Riseborough for HBO and the film “Unfrozen” directed by Jerry Seinfeld.
