Hundreds of American institutions: The government should condemn Israel’s inhumane acts

In a letter to Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, 288 US human rights and civil society organizations expressed solidarity with Palestinian civil society, IRNA reported Saturday, citing the CCR Justice website.

“Civil rights, social justice, and human rights leaders and leaders call on you to immediately and explicitly condemn Israel’s new decision to ban and prosecute six Palestinian civil society organizations,” the letter said in part. .

“These Israeli-targeted NGOs are part of Palestinian civil society that has worked for decades to protect and promote Palestinian human rights,” the letter said.

The list of these six organizations is as follows: the Union of Palestinian Women’s Committees, the Association for the Protection of Prisoners and Human Rights, the Bisan Research and Development Center, Al-Haq, the Defense of the World Palestinian Children, and the Union of Agricultural Labor Committees.

In another part of the letter, it is stated: The Biden government has repeatedly spoken of its commitment to promoting and supporting the issue of human rights throughout. This recent Israeli action against Palestinian civil society is a clear attack on human rights. We call on you (the Biden government) to condemn this unprecedented and unexpected attack on Palestinian human rights organizations.

Earlier, France expressed concern about the Zionists’ action after the Americans demanded clarification on the Zionist regime calling the Palestinian institutions terrorist.

A French Foreign Ministry spokesman said in a statement: “Paris reaffirms its commitment to the vital role of civil society in a democratic life.” We want an explanation from the Israeli authorities.

Israeli War Minister Bani Gantz recently identified six Palestinian civilian groups (including prominent groups backed by the European Union and international organizations) as terrorist groups, claiming links to the Palestine Liberation Front.

The Israeli Ministry of War has not provided any evidence that these groups are linked to the Palestine Liberation Front, only stating that they received more than 200 million euros from some European countries between 2014 and 2021.
