Hungary: We ask Washington not to teach us how to live

According to Fars International News Agency, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said on Tuesday that Hungary does not agree with America’s teachings and its desire to impose its views on other countries.

Speaking at the Qatar Economic Forum, he added: “It is not my duty to criticize the American president, but we ask Washington not to teach us how to live.”

Previously, with the support of the American Embassy in Budapest, posters were placed on the streets of this city, which called for the withdrawal of Russian forces from Ukraine.

“David Brisman”, the American ambassador in Budapest, also said that Hungary is in an important period to determine its future. He also asked Hungary to strengthen its relations with its Western allies.

Orban has previously said that it is very important for Budapest to maintain relations with Russia for as long as possible.

He also said in an interview with “Bloomberg” analytical website: “Ukraine cannot win the war against Russia.”

In this regard, he said: “Looking at the numbers, looking around, looking at the fact that NATO is not ready to send troops, it is clear that there is no victory for the poor Ukrainians on the battlefield.”

Euronews recently reported that the European Union has so far paid 3 billion and 100 million euros to Kiev in the framework of the European Peace Facility (EPF) to equip Ukraine in the fight against Russia.

Hungary’s prime minister has repeatedly urged the European Union to cut financial aid to Kiev, and some critics say that if Western aid to Ukraine is reduced, Kiev will be forced to capitulate to Russia.

End of message.
