According to Mehr news agency, quoted by Sputnik news agency, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov announced today Wednesday after meeting with Iran’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian in a press conference on various bilateral, regional and international issues: “I am confident that the payment systems of Mir” and Shatab will be integrated in the near future. The central banks of Russia and Iran are working on a road map in this direction.
The Russian Foreign Minister also said in this press conference about the negotiations to lift anti-Iranian sanctions: We are fully satisfied with the latest text of the JCPOA revival agreement. We will consider Iran’s position. I hope that the requests of some European leaders to Iran regarding Ukraine are not a new precondition for the revival of the JCPOA.
Sergey Lavrov added that his country considers the work on the comprehensive document on relations between Iran and Russia to be in the final stage.
In this regard, he added: We are satisfied with the development of bilateral relations between Tehran and Moscow. Work on this document is now in its final stages.
On the other hand, Hossein Amirabdollahian, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of our country, during his trip to Russia, in a joint press conference with “Sergei Lavrov”, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia, in response to the developments in Iraq, said: Religious authority in Iraq is a very important source in stabilizing security in this country.
He also pointed to the developments in Libya and added: Tehran and Moscow support the establishment of stability and security and the determination of Libya’s destiny by the people of this country in the course of regional consultations.
Amir Abdullahian added: We also agreed that the joint economic commission of the two countries will be held in Moscow in the near future.
Regarding the latest developments in negotiations to lift sanctions, he also said: We recently received the latest text from the American side, and my colleagues are carefully reviewing the text, and we still need a stronger text regarding guarantees.
