i9 13980HX processor in MSI Raider GE78HX laptop – only 4% weaker than R9 7950X

Just a new entry from MSI Raider GE78HX 13VI gaming laptop It has been published on Geekbench. This laptop is equipped with a Core i9 13980HX processor, which is the most powerful laptop processor available today and is only 4% weaker than AMD’s flagship desktop processor, the Ryzen 9 7950X.
We heard several weeks ago that Intel plans to release a 24-core processor for laptops called Core i9 13980HX, and now we see the confirmation of this processor’s existence. This processor is used in the new generation of MSI’s Raider GE78HX gaming laptop, and since the model code of this laptop has changed compared to the current model, Raider GE77HX, it is most likely equipped with a new chassis.

The new generation of this laptop has been upgraded from 16-core Alder Lake processors to 24-core Raptor Lake processors, which is a heavy upgrade. As we said, the 24-core Core i9 13980HX processor can be ordered for this laptop as the most powerful laptop processor today. This processor was supposed to have a maximum boost frequency of 5.6 GHz, which has also been confirmed. According to Geekbench database, the maximum frequency of this processor is 5.56 GHz and its average frequency is 5.48 GHz.

This processor was previously tested on the new generation of Asus ROG Strix G16/G18 laptops, but the score obtained by this processor on those laptops was lower than MSI Raider GE78HX. As the Geekbench database says, the Core i9 13980HX processor on this laptop managed to get a single-core score of 2097 and a multi-core score of 22062.
Not only are these scores higher than any laptop processor to date, but they also place this processor next to AMD’s flagship processor, the Ryzen 9 7950X, by a margin of 4 percent.
Intel is going to officially introduce the 13th generation H/HK/HX laptop processors next week during the CES 2023 event.
