Idris Elba comes with “Luther” in the New Year/Saving London from a serial killer
The title of Idris Elba’s movie as Luther and its release date have been announced.
Charso Press: New details have been announced about a new film that will once again feature Idris Elba as a detective named Luther.
Revealing the film’s title as “Luther: Fallen Sun,” Netflix announced that it will stream in March 2023.
Elba was last seen in the fifth season of the BBC series “Luther” when he was arrested and the character of Alice may also be dead. Now this movie is a continuation of the last season of the series.
The story of the film is about a serial killer who has taken over London and at the same time the brilliant but infamous detective John Luther is behind bars. Luther decides to escape from prison and fulfill his duty at any cost. Cynthia Erivo and Andy Serkis play the two negative characters of the film, and Dermot Crawley also plays the role of Martin Schenck again.
Netflix has produced “Fallen Sun” in collaboration with the BBC. The film was written by Neil Cross and directed by Jamie Payne. Along with Elba, they have also produced the film.
The series “Luther” was made in the form of five seasons and aired on BBC One from 2010 to 2019. Ruth Wilson, Steven Mackintosh, Indira Varma, Paul McGann, Saskia Reeves and Warren Brown were other actors of the “Luther” series.
This series received 11 Emmy nominations, including Elba’s performance and Cross’s writing. Elba also received a BAFTA nomination for this series and won the Screen Actors Guild Award in 2016. In 2012, he won the Golden Globe for this series.
